Day 2

Its 21:00 pm and I am at a little hamlet that doesn't show up on the map. We are firmly within Galicia and it shows. If you got dropped here and didn't know where you where the only way you'd know your in Spain are multiple vehicles with E plates.

Today I was supposed to goto C(F)ebreiro. I was supposed to climb about 700 meters. There was also supposed to be an albergue upon our arrival. There wasn't because of all the people and because it seems the Camino is more of a hip thing and people do it for sport. At the last albergue I was awakened at 4am by people getting ready to leave (aka get to the next albergue first). Its a totally ridiculous system and I have an idea to improve it.

As I got to Febreiro I thought I should stay at the halfway point (Faba), however I decided to persevere. The trek today took us through cattle and other rural farming communities. It was interesting but most of the stuff reminded me of South American's rural communities.

Anyhow:.I met this couple from Andalucia (David and Tania) and I did most of todays Trek with them. They walked off but I caught up to them after Faba. When we got to Cebreiro we noticed the albergue was booked and private homes where charging an arm and a leg. At this point we had walked 28 kms, and decided to walk 5 kms more to the next albergue. We had called and it wasn't full. By the time we got there it was and we continued on 5 km more to an albergue and hotel at Alto do Poio.

I write now from Alto because we got here and there was space. The man who runs this is very gallego and there isn't cell coverage. The day was very taxing and my entire body hurts. The upside is I'm not sleeping on the floor. Ill send this tomorrow.
¡Buen Camino! Xacobeo 2011
